Process Modeling & Simulation
NEW! This is a logical follow-up to our Lean Enterprise class....
Process simulation is a computer-based technique for assisting operations managers and process improvement staff to quickly model service/manufacturing processes and analyze/evaluate various improvement options for their respective processes. In this workshop, participants will use an Excel-based process simulation program to model, simulate, and quantitatively analyze processes. Several process performance measures will be calculated and reviewed to allow participants to completely understand the impact of each improvement option on process performance in order to make the most effective operational decision.
Audience: Operations Managers, Process Improvement Practitioners, Industrial/Manufacturing/Process Engineers
The workshop will include in-class exercises, case studies and practice with the simulation tool.
Topics covered during the workshop include:
• Process Simulation Basics & Methodology
• Process Analysis Performance Measures
• Waiting Lines (Queues) Models
• Supply Chain Inventory Models
• Manufacturing Flow Models
• Project Management Models
A maximum of 12 Students is allowed for this course
